What is Canva?
Canva is an easy graphic-design tool website. It uses a user-friendly drag and drop tool and has thousands of customizable templates. Canva also makes it easy for you to access millions of stock images, illustrations, icons and fonts inside the app. It is used by non-designers as well as professionals. The tools can be used for both web and print media design and graphics.
It’s quick, free, easy to use and you don’t have to install anything.
Here’s a quick walkthrough on how to use Canva to create a business card in 5 minutes. If you prefer video instructions, scroll to the bottom of this page.
Step 1: Go to Canva.com
Go to Canva.com and create an account. Once you are in your account you will be prompted to create you first design. Click on More… and select Business Card. It is listed under Marketing Materials.
Step 2: Choose your template
Next you will have to choose your design template as a base. You don’t have to be 100% satisfied with the design because you can manipulate the text, font, colour and other elements. You have a lot of flexibility and control over what the business card will look like at the end.
Step 3: Change the contact info and edit the design
Once you selected a template, go ahead and change the contact info to your own, or remove anything that you are not comfortable with. You can also change any colours of the template, add or remove icons, images or any other elements. Step 4: Download your design
In the top right hand corner, click Download and save it as an image which can then be sent to your local print shop or to get printed.
Congrats! You now have a unique professional business card. Keep in mind that Canva can be used for any web or print media designs, so you don’t have to use it for business cards only.
